Water Wise

Every drop counts — close tight, use wisely.

Save water at the office — from checking leaks and using taps sensibly to reusing water where possible.

Why it matters

Small leaks — a drip from a tap or toilet — waste a surprisingly large amount of water and money over time. Regular checks and immediate repairs are the most important step.

Simple habits such as closing the tap while washing hands, not leaving water running, and reusing water where possible reduce total office consumption without affecting work.

Do this today

Read and act immediately — no big programme required.

  • Check taps and toilets for leaks and report any for repair immediately
  • Always close the tap after use and don't leave water running while washing hands
  • Use low-flow or aerated taps when installing new fixtures
  • Reuse used water — such as fruit and vegetable rinse water — for watering plants
  • Wipe food scraps off dishes before washing to reduce water use
  • Report unusual water usage to the responsible person

Quick knowledge

Fact

Fix leaks fast

Even a slow drip, left running over time, wastes water and money. Check regularly and report for repair as soon as you notice it.

Fact

Low-flow fixtures

Low-flow fixtures reduce the flow rate while still cleaning effectively — a good option for new installations and repairs.

Explain

Reuse where you can

Water from rinsing produce or mopping can be reused to water plants, reducing unnecessary use of clean water.

Everyday Green Challenge
